It is the storm riding the dark night, it is thunder piercing scattered light
look to the clouds hear that electric bit, It makes a noise that fills the sky with light
It glides overhead and turns the vane' moving in natural directions,
he can see its shadow on its way, moving in leaving no protection.
Hilltops, open spaces, in the water, leave that place behind and head for shelter..
Lightning chaser, fifty yards away
and the roll and boom of the thunder moving closer and closer.
The smell of the rain grew stronger as the storm approached from the south,
then a heavy fall of rain, a storm of arrows and tears.
Take the rain away, make it rain another day
but his clothes are soaked to the skin all is wet within.
He'll wait til' tomorrow if he lives thru today
but the atmosphere wants him and the lightnings moving in.
It don't matter to him what he does or where he goes,
it indicates his direction.
A storm of rain and arrows shooting from the sky
he heads for cover followed by it's eye.
Sliding down a hillside wet with water, lightning is now blasting all around him.
Looking at his face now lit with anger, terror fills his face now lit with wonder.
Burning bright the fire-flash took him down,
and faded in the sound of pouring rain
Western Arizona, sometimes he thinks he's alone,
rising up against a most impressive sunset.
Reaching for his camera, he picks up empty space he shakes his head in disbelief.
No longer part of the human race..
He knew the storm was dangerous even in the moonlight,
that crept into the twilight, the city lights are fading away...
